1. Sikh homeland has been a topic of discussion for a long time, aswellas it has been the cause of tragedy, pain and bloodshed for lakhs of people in the subcontinent.
2. Sikhs are mostly simple-hearted God-fearing, hard working people who have been, over a period of time, psychologically and politically exploited in the name of their religion, by wily politicians, both from within the Sikh community and outside it, including Hindu and Muslim politicians.
3. Sikhs have been befooled, misled, exploited and killed in name of a bogey state called Khalistan. I have been closely watching this horrible drama, as I have been closely related to it all, being a Punjabi, aswellas being a sufferer of this pseudo- Independence movement, which is deliberately flared up, by wily politicians and agents of deep states of both India and Pakistan, whenever some more sikhs are to be eliminated.
4. So, if the SIKHS truly desire to progress, prosper and achieve long-term happiness, they must understand the basic things about themselves, the land of Punjab, and their exploitation by political foxes as well as their self-destructive undercurrents.
5. Firstly they must acquaint themselves with the history and demography of Punjab, and thus understand the actual ground realities of past and present Indian subcontinent, with a special focus on the larger region of Punjab.
6. Secondly, the SIKHS or Punjabis in general, need to get free of the extremely destructive narrative of Khalistan, created and maintained by the operatives of dark and elusive underground agencies of some western countries, and India aswellas Pakistan, in collusion with the FHCP, 'Fox and Hyena Club of Punjab'. These forces create inter-communal mistrust and fear amongst different communities, for their petty political gains, and for securing petty share in region's political power aswellas some money.
7. Thirdly the SIKHS need to accept and build a more, inclusive, doable and acceptable counter-narrative to replace an unrealistic and undoable narrative of Khalistan.
8. Understand and remember this for once and for all that the mighty states of India and Pakistan can not be moved or intimidated by terrorists or extremists. Both these states are capable of creating their own ISIS type setup. Both countries are quite capable of creating, infiltrating and destroying any violent sepratist movement.

Thus always remember that an exclusive and narrow-minded Khalistan, based on extreme puritan sikh concepts, is a self-destructive and suicidal concept, and thus I do verily proclaim that, this 'Pseudo Call' was created by the deep state itself. The fact is that simpleton sikhs have brought it wholesale, during the black days of Khalistan movement, and there is a fear of them lapping it up once again.

So, the Sikhs must build, accept and REPLACE, the undoable and 'Designed to be Self-Destructive Narrative of Khalistan', with a politically and strategically more doable and more inclusive narrative, a narrative of 'Joint Punjab', modeled on Punjab of SHER-E-PUNJAB, an all inclusive secular and progressive state of Punjab.
11. I have come up with a fresh perspective which will serve as a healthy replacement, a better alternative narrative to the failed narrative of Khalistan. I must say verily, that my theory is not about a 'Sikh Home Land', alone but a more inclusive and all engulfing humanitarian 'Punjabi Homeland', based on 'Unity of All', as envisaged by Nanak, as the spinal Idea of his philosophy.
12. It's a very deep issue, which itself is the subject matter of volumes of work, but to begin with this larger region may just be called 'Punjab' as it always has been, or may even be called 'People's Republic of Punjab'.
13. The people of 'PRP' will comprise of all communities holding affinity to all dialects and shades of Punjabi language, ranging from Hindko, Saraiki, Multani, Dogri, Gojri, Majhail, Malwai, and many other rural and urban dialects, and an all inclusive punjabi culture.
14. To understand the point better, let's travel back a step or two in time. When Punjab was ruled by Britishers, it was a territory comprising of 29 truly large, rather huge districts, and 43 princely states, including, Jammu & Kashmir, Patiala, Jind, Nabha, Bahawalpur, Sirmur, Loharu, Dujana, Pataudi, Kalsia, Kapurthala, Mandi, Suket, Rampur Bushahr, Malerkotla, Suket, Faridkot, Siba, Chamba [a few more], and 28 Small to petty principitalities generally classified as Shimla Hill States, including Kahlur (Bilaspur) .
15. During partition, 17 out of these 29 huge districts of Punjab were given to Pakistan, and these districts handed over to Pakistan had a very good Sikh presence. All these sikhs were hardworking and 'well to do' people. They mostly lived in affluent districts of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Gurdaspur, Lahore, Lyallpur, Montgomery, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Montgomery, Peshawar, Attock, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Shahpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Jhang, Mianwali, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Marhi, and many other affluent towns and villages of now 'Western Punjab'.
16. The SIKHS living in these areas were the worst affected population during partition. They were forced to migrate to India as refugees, leaving their well earned homes and hearths, or were killed during extremely tragic and violent partition riots.
17. India got just 12 districts, out of the 29 districts of Punjab, along with 'Patiala & Eastern Punjab Princely States Union', more popularly known as PEPSU. Please remember that the territories of Delhi, Haryana, Himachal and Chandigarh were a part of joint Punjab.
18. The 29 districts, were all administered by a Deputy commissioner each, and were organised under 5 divisions headed by a commissioner each. These five divisions were, Delhi, Multan, Rawalpindi, Jullundhar, and Lahore.
19. Delhi Division had districts namely, Ambala, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hissar, Karnal, Rohtak and Shimla.
Jullundur Division had
Ferozepore, Hoshiarpur, Jullundur, Kangra and Ludhiana districts.
Lahore Division had districts namely, Amritsar, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Gurdaspur, Lahore, Lyallpur, Montgomery, Sheikhupura and Sialkot.
Rawalpindi Division had
Attock, Jhelum, Rawalpindi and Shahpur districts.
Multan Division had districts of Dera Ghazi Khan, Jhang, Mianwali, Multan & Muzaffargarh.
20. Post Independence, huge territories of Delhi, Haryana, Himachal and Chandigarh were further separated, from the smaller eastern Punjab, and this happened as a result of an absolutely suicidal demand for a 'Punjabi Suba', made by a very short sighted Sikh leadership.
21. Then ofcourse the black days of KS happened, Akal takht got razed to ground, tragedy of 84 happened, which was a genocide, and/but the stupidity of Sikh abuse still continues in many places.
22. My point is that Sikhs have had enough of all this. This stupidity being perpetrated upon sikhs must be brought to an end, to be able to give a truly fair chance to Sikh community.
23. As per my theory, a Sikh Homeland for 'Sikhs Alone', was never, and is not truly practical.
24. Even in 1941, the demography of Punjab was 53% Muslims, 29% Hindus, 16% Sikhs and 2% Christians. Sikhs were quite spread out all over the unpartitioned state. So question of a formation of a Sikh state on religious basis alone, was as remote a possibility, as it is today.
25. Also remember that, Sikhism in principle is an all inclusive religion. It is about inclusiveness in human society, and not about exclusiveness of a class, creed, colour, caste or religion.
26. In principle Sikhism does not prescribe to creating any advantage for any one person or group, at the cost of creating disadvantage to another.
27. Even Shere-Punjab's Kingdom was ruled by a Sikh, but it was otherwise a secular kingdom, with more than equal number of adminstrative officers, both within and outside the army, being from Hindu, Muslim aswellas Christian communities. Religion was never a base for appointment to any high office in Shere-Punjab's Punjab.
28. As far as Sikh rulers are concerned, a respectably large territory named Patiala was ruled by a Sikh King. Similarly the territories of Faridkot, Kapurthala, Nabha, and Jind aka Sangrur were ruled by Sikh Princes, but they were all very very secular in approach to their population. As a testimony of their secular approach, they built institutions to empower all religions. Even today the grand temples, gurudwaras, churches and Mosques built in these princely states are a testimony to the secular outlook of their rulers.
29. Thus the call for a Punjabi republic is not a call for a separate Sikh theocracy, but a call for a truly secular democracy, with Punjabi language and culture as it's bonding spirit. Rest of the fine tuning can be done later.
30. I think it's not an unfair call. The Pakistani Punjabis as well as the Indian Punjabis should work for it jointly. It is not a call for separation, but to reunite all the areas , which were originally Punjab, including 17 districts, now in Pakistan.
31. Think of it, it's a brilliant idea, strategically, politically, socially, militarily as well as economically.
32. Other than this, if Sikhs want to ride above their mundane existence, they have to empower themselves with the knowledge of modern technology, and be masters of software, hardware, robotics, biorobotics, and artificial intelligence.
33. Gone are the days when rural religious drumming up support techniques, like playing with Sikh sentiment via 'Be-adbi' etc, or via making this or that 'Sant', the trumpeter of Sikhs worked. Sikhs must rise above the old mind set of 'Crest Resistance' movements via tactics designed for medieval times. Today it is imperative to become as forward looking and progressive as possible. Empowerment through education in software development, medical science, military science, Law and through intelligence technologies, is the only possible way to move forward, and this alone will work effectively.
