🚩Accidental Prime Minister, my Candid Review.🚩@GBG

1.  Manmohan Singh was not an accidental Prime minister. He was a 'Most Deserving Prime Minister'. Trained in economics from Oxford, D.Litt from Cambridge, ex Finance minster of India, ex governor of RBI, can not be an accidental Prime minister. A film on him should have been named 'DESERVING PRIME MINISTER'.

2.  Undoubtedly as the movie itself is based on a book by the same name, there is technically nothing wrong with the name as such, but ethically it could have been dropped.

3.  Anupam Kher ji, is a seasoned actor and a master of comedy aswellas serious portrayals, but inspite of that he has focused on projecting Mr. Singh,  much more weaker a personality than he actually is. Elements of parody are glaringly clear.

4.  The movie is a biopic, made on linear sequential documentary format, aimed to make every thing look real. The film is of 1 hour 52 minutes duration,  and has no songs. Akshay Khanna, who has played the role of Sanjay Baru, the political journalist, infact the writer of book, has been given so much of time, that he looks like the protagonist. All congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi ji, played by Suzanne, have been portrayed in negative light.

5.  That be it, films  and other media have always been used by parties or persons themselves to magnify their own people in positive light, or by their adversaries the media has been used to either caricature or villianize the targeted person or party. This film is no different, thus the film has a strong propaganda motive.

6.   Films  with political motives have been, and will continue to be produced all over the world. Their content and  intent too, will continue  to be debated by panelists and critics. All this is a part of the game, and in my opinion the game must continue.

Script is based on Sanjaya Baru's book by the same name.  He was PM. Manmohan Singh's media advisor from May 2004 to August 2008.
