1. Muslims of Mewat region are called MEO Muslims. It is worth mentioning right in the beginning that Meos of Mewat are historically very patriotic people. They have always sided with India and Indianness. Their King, Raja Hasaan Khan, although offered huge Jagirs by Babar, sided with Raja Sangram Singh, and fought against invading forces of Babar, where Brave Raja Hassan Khan and his 12,000 brave and loyal Mewatis laid down their lives for Motherland. Meos also played a very active role in all freedom struggles, from 1857 to 1947, and in 1947, refused to leave for Pakistan, and continued to stay in their motherland, that is Mewat.
2. MEWAT is a region extending across Rajsthan and Haryana. The larger region is formed of Tehsils, Hathin, Nuh, Firozpur Jhirka, Punahana and Taoru of Haryana, tehsils Tijara, Kishangarh Bas, Ramgarh and Laxmangarh of Alwar district of Rajsthan, and tehsils Pahari, Nagar and Kaman of district Bharatpur of Rajsthan.
3. The area falling under Haryana was carved in to a seprate district called the Mewat district, and is now called the Nuh district. It has an area of 1,499 sq km and has approximately a population of 2,000,000.
4. DISTRICT Mewat/Nuh is surrounded by districts of Gurgaon in north, Rewari in west and Palwal & Faridabad in east. The headquarters of Nuh district is township of 'Nuh' itself. The district comprises of Nuh, Nagina, Taoru, Punhana and Firozpur Jhirka blocks, having 431 villages and 297 panchayats. The places of tourist interest are, Fort Kotla, Indor Fort, Shaking Minarets, Nallad, Chui Mal's Pond and more. Mewat is famous for it's biryani.
5. Unknown to the masses, what Mewat is most famous for, is the 'Mewati Gharana of Indian Gayaki'. A 'Gharana' in Indian fine arts is a musical apprenticeship clan, which passes the art from Guru to disciples, in an ongoing chain of learning and teaching. Founded by Ustad Ghagge Nazir Khan of Mewat, this school of Indian classical singing has its own distinct aesthetics, style, principles and practices. The most famous vocalist of this gharana is Pandit Jasraj ji, the most famous 20th century vocalist of Indian classical music.
6. It is worth mentioning that Sardar Patel specifically gave instructions in 1947, that no one will touch Mewati Muslims, as their services to nation are undoubtedly great, and they are patriots beyond any doubt.
7. So friends any one abusing hurting, raping killing or lynching a Mewati Meo Muslim is either an uneducated gawaar, unaware of India's history, or an absolute political creep.
