1. All modern states expect, and should expect a set of values to be held high, by their citizen's just like the nations of EU do.
These are:-
1. Clear sepration of 'Religion and State'. In other words to not allow any religion, to be the core fulcrum of state Policy, may it be any religion. No modern state can either be an absolute monarchy, aristocracy, or a theocracy. It has to be a people's republic alone.
2. Freedom of expression is to be guaranteed to all citizens of state, as long as they follow the golden rule of mutual respect for each other's freedom. This is a value to be held high by cirtizens and preserved by state.
3, Equality of men and women has to be ensured. On no account any gender discrimination should be allowed in the modern state.
4. Rule of law must prevail, and state laws should be so framed, as to be addressing the demands of a progressive modern society.
5. Any one disagreeing with the above basic paradigm, does not deserve to be a citizen of any modern state, and should not be allowed to be a part of any election process, either as a voter, or as a candidate fighting election.
