1. Nangal Bhakra and Pong dams are filled to the brim.
2. Ropar headworks flood gates have been opened and reservoir's water has been released in to Satluj River. Ropar headworks is the place from where BML, or Bhakhra Main line Canal originates. Opening of these flood gates is the first sign that BBMB is bound to release water from Bhakra Dam.
3. Pong dam flood gates opened, already.
4. River beas has risen upto 25 feet and merged with the national highway which connects leh manali and Kullu with the rest of India.
5. Punjab declared 'Red alert for floods' yesterday, and an 'Emergency Situation' has been declared today. Leave of all irrigation and drainage staff pan Punjab has been cancelled.
6. Disaster Management teams, Central Police forces and Army have been put on on standby, as water levels in all dams has risen to threatening levels. Concerned authorities are either releasing or considering releasing water from dams due to heavy rain fall in himachal pradesh and other hill states.
7. All roads leading to himachal have been officially declared unsafe, travel at your own risk scenario.
8. Chandigarh's Shukna lake GATES opened after 10 years and excess water released via Kishanpur choe in to Ghaggar river.
9. Chamera dam gates opened.
